OF PAINTING, PAINTINGS, AND GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

A FRESH COAT OF PAINT
If you come to Oseredok over the next few days, you will notice ladders, dropcloths, and the sound of sanders, shop vacs, and roller brushes. The walls and doors of the entire building stairwell, as well as the foyers on all five floors are being painted!
On the fifth floor, the painters are dealing with areas of water damage caused by the leaky roof (which, you may recall, was repaired last year). On the first through the fourth floors, they are repairing and painting everyday wear-and-tear. We look forward to a refreshed and clean look!

In the meantime, we are definitely open to visitors!

Open this Sunday, September 2 from 1 - 4pm.
Regular hours are Monday through Saturday 10am - 4pm

NEW IN THE BOUTIQUE
HOLODOMOR THE MOVIE
BobbyLeigh, Director and Producer
Marta Tomkiw, Producer

In 1932-33 Ukraine, the breadbasket of the Soviet Union, had bountiful crops of grain yet its people were dying of starvation. In order to crush the will of the independent-minded Ukrainian peasants and secure collectivization of all Ukrainian lands, Joseph Stalin ordered an army of ruthless Communist Party activists to confiscate all harvested grain and seize all the foodstuffs in the villages. As a result of this genocidal decree, by the end of 1933 nearly 25 percent of the Ukrainian population – 7-10 million people, including 3 million children – had perished!

In the face of terror, Ukrainians had little possibility of escaping their horrific fate to create another life elsewhere. Travel was banned for Ukrainians keeping them confined in a prison of starvation within their own villages.

HOLODOMOR, a full-length feature film documentary, tells the story of the cold-blooded destruction of human life which has been silenced from the world for over seven decades.
