BOOK LAUNCH - With Alec in Mind
Book Launch and Reading by Kegan McFadden
Thursday June 7 at 7 pm

Please join us to celebrate the launch of the latest artist book by Kegan McFadden - With Alec in Mind. Published as one part of a much larger project with components in Brandon, St. Boniface, Winnipeg, and Toronto, With Alec in Mind tells the story of McFadden's great uncle, Alexander Tabolotney, and his murder on a homestead in rural Manitoba in 1995.

Kegan McFadden is a writer, curator, and artist from Winnipeg. His projects in exhibition and book form have been presented across the country and internationally, and often blur the lines between cultural research and storytelling.

The exhibition, With Alec in Mind, continues at Oseredok until June 19, 2012.
The book is available for purchase at Oseredok Boutique.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT OF KUPALO

The Kupalo Festival is a uniquely Ukrainian twist on the ancient midsummer night's celebration of the Summer Solstice. This shortest night of the year is full of mystery and magic when ferns bloom, herbs and flowers have magical powers, and the forest is shrouded in mist. It is a witching night with eerie appearances of rusalky-nymphs and other mystical creatures. It is also a night for divining love through age old songs and rituals.

This summer, celebrate the magic of the Kupalo Festival with Oseredok!
Thursday, July 5 from 7 - 10 pm at the Qualico Family Centre, located in the lush, natural settings of Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park.

Tickets at $100 are now available at Oseredok. Call 204-942-0218, or email ucec@mymts.net
